Hague Accreditation
Lifeline is pleased to announce that we have received our Hague Accreditation! February 29, 2008 was the Uniform Notification Date (UND) and Lifeline is among the first agencies to receive Hague Accreditation. Click here to see our letter of notification from the Council on Accreditation.
The United States will implement the Hague Convention on Intercountry Adoptions on April 1, 2008. Receiving Hague Accreditation allows us to continue to process adoptions in countries that have implemented the Hague Convention - namely China, Guatemala, and Peru.* We are very excited to see how the Hague Convention will improve the intercountry adoption process and protect the rights' of children.
You can view a list of agencies that received Hague Accreditation by the Uniform Notification Date at http://www.travel.state.gov/family/adoption/convention/convention_4169.html.
*Note: Ukraine has not ratified the Hague Convention, and therefore, is not affected by the United States' implementation of the Hague Convention.
